What started out as a project to pay closer attention to the overlooked - has since grown into 18 characters based on real species. This series of illustrated character studies by incredible author illustrator Rob Hodgson is based on the kinds of lichen growing quietly all around us — on walls, rooftops, gravestones, tree trunks. Easy to miss, but once you start noticing them, they’re everywhere. This utterly charming guide will delight readers of all ages and we believe it is the perfect stocking filler.

You can choose from a 3 or 6 month subscription, paperback only at the moment, and after filling out our questionnaire on your reading preferences you will receive a carefully curated, beautifully wrapped book in the post each month.

Bricks and Mortar
We are a proudly bricks-and-mortar high street shop. We believe independent bookshops are a special place to visit and so much of the pleasure of reading is going into a bookshop, having a browse, chatting about exceptional (or not!) books and experiencing the soul and atmosphere of reading.
Events
We work closely with the local community, schools and the library to curate a wide range of interesting and inspiring sessions. We are currently organising a small programme of events for autumn 2025 so be the first to hear about these by signing up to our newsletter, or check out what is coming up soon on the events page.
